The next step in America's corporate democracy

Last month, in a disastrous decision for American democracy, the US Supreme Court struck down third-party spending limits in federal elections. In the process, they ruled that the corporations who buy those ads to promote their own interests are people, protected by the US constitution and endowed with the same rights as real people.

That decision is going to have some consequences. Here's the first: Murray Hill Incorporated, a PR firm, has decided to cut out the middleman and run for Congress. Here's their first campaign ad:

It's a stunt, of course - but a beautiful one, which perfectly highlights the absurdity of treating corporations as people. And hopefully, they'll be successful in getting some court rulings saying that they cannot stand.
