Climate change policy due tomorrow

According to NZPA, the government is due to outline its new climate change policy tomorrow.

I just hope its not too disappointing...

Any Government with a leader that expounds the virtues of coal extraction while a state owned enterprise plans over half a dozen new coal mines and coal fired power stations can't even pretend to be serious about climate change, I'm afraid.

And decides to spend more on new roads than any other NZ Govt in history, allows the meat and dairy industries to increase their emmissions unabated... etc etc etc.

It will be interesting to see how they spin whatever token efforts made.

George: and whether their denier coalition partners will support it, or kill even the too-late half-measures that are likely to be announced stone dead...

I think we can say NZPA got it wrong. The government has now announced its plans to develop a new climate change policy.

Yes, we've now gone from having a climate change policy, to planning to have one.
(or is that planning to plan to have one? I'm a little confused)

We really are back to square one. Even a bad strategy is better than no strategy at all, or one which arrives a decade too late.
